Okay, Oscar nominations, biggest surprise, La La Land did get 14 nominations nominations. Most disappointing Clint Eastwood passed by for best directing of Sully which got only 1 lousy nomination. Speaking of getting the shaft, Denzel Washington took the pipe for Directing Fences, so did Darth Davis for his Direction in Lion, despite Lion getting 6 other nominations. My 4 Favs for Best Picture, Fences, Hacksaw Ridge, Hidden Figures and Lion. Best Actor, Andrew Garfield in Hacksaw, loved Casey Affleck in Manchester by the Sea, Denzel Washington in Fences and Ryan Gosling in LaLa Land. Best Actress favs, Natalie Portman for Jackie and Emma Stone for La La Land. Best Documentary, OJ Made in America. So those are my favorites in the biggest categories, 10 great movies for you to see.
