Final Oscar related nuggets. The hottest post Oscar party for the last 32 years is always the Elton John’s Aides Foundation Party. This year Elton’s party generated $10.2 million! The list of celebrities who attend is guarded but Sharon Stone, Heidi Klum, Danny DeVito, Matt Damon and America Ferrera were there just to name a few
Odd sidebar, Robert Downey Jr. won an Oscar Sunday. Way back in November 2000, Robert was arrested while in his room at the Merv Griffin Resort in Palm Springs for cocaine and other drugs! At the time I lived less than a mile from there. For years, you could rent that room for a premium rate, that was the rumor! The very high end hotel is now called the Parker Palm Springs Resort. I wonder if you can still rent that room for a premium rate. Doubt it!
So, I review movies on Friday’s and I want to remind everybody, just because I like a film doesn’t mean everybody will agree. Heck my wife doesn’t always agree with me. I bring it up because Rotten Tomatoes ripped, Bob Marley: One Love, with a sad 41%! I loved that movie, and this weekend it will surpass $100 million at the box office. And did you know that Marley died at the age of 36 when he ignored a dark spot under a toenail that was melanoma cancer and it metastasis, spread and killed him. I bring it up because yesterday I had a squamous skin cancer cut out of my forehead, I’m fine, but I would encourage everybody to be checked out by a dermatologist. We’re all family here.
