Report for Tuesday, Apr 16th

So Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the former armorer on the Rust movie has been sentenced to 18 months for her negligence when Alec Baldwin shot and killed Halyna Hutchins. I seem to be the only Hollywood reporter who thinks Alec will do some time! Most reporters say by her going to jail that will let Alec off the hook. I disagree.

Today I have some television shows I want to recommend. We start off with a great mini series on Netflix, The Gentlemen. Produced by Guy Ritchie, a spin from his 2019 movie and starring Theo James. Set in current day England, with the death of a Duke, he leaves his estate to his smart, hip, younger son, not his idiot, clueless older son. That causes a family riff, and there is drugs, crime yet a lot of comedy! The Gentleman, on Netflix (4 Stars). Again, Limited series, only eight episodes. So good you might binge.

Next, on several streamers, a movie that couldn’t be more different from Gentlemen, the Miracle Club. Oldies but goodies Kathy Bates and Maggie Smith star in a sweet, well acted story of a family death, aging, dying and coming together. Touching (4 Stars).

And different from those two, The Testimony of Moses. On Netflix, a three part series that is getting huge viewership. Hey, all or none of these may be your cup of tea, but as your Hollywood guy just reporting.

While I said I was going to back off O.J., get ready for a Lifetime TV two night event, The Life and Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson. Having covered all three of O.J.’s trials, some of the exclusive nuggets from my Friday report may be exposed in this special. But you heard it here first!
