TV News: Ratings for Saturday Night Live have hit an all time low and Lorne Michaels and NBC executives will meet in June to decide S.N.L.’s future, and I would not be surprised if a final date for a final show is announced shortly after. It use to be S.N.L. was a great show and there was nothing else on at that time. But most of the shows now deal with politics and with the election being over in November, that combined with streaming taking over and you can watch anything you want 24/7, my prediction for S.N.L., it’s just a matter of time. Bye bye, so long, farewell, see ya! … Final TV comment on that remake of Road House. Hated the original with Patrick Swayze and Sam Elliot, now I have seen the re-make with Jake Gyllenhaal and Conor McGregor that Amazon says has had the most views of any movie. Hated it even more.
Movie News: Speaking of the Gyllenhaal’s, Jake’s sister Maggie has written, will direct and produce the movie, The Bride. Described as a romantic, drama, horror! Set in 1930’s Chicago, Frankenstein, yes, Frankenstein asks his doctor to create a companion for him, by giving life to a murdered woman and making her his bride. All about romance, police investigation, and it all sparks radical social change. I don’t make this stuff up! The movie also stars Christian Bale, Penelope Cruz, Julianne Hough and Peter Sarsgaard! Release date, Halloween 2025.
