Report for Friday, Mar 8th

Decades ago the Oscars were must see TV. Now it’s more like, what else is on. The winners have never been more predictable, especially for the big awards. Best Picture, Oppenheimer. Best Director, Christoper Nolan for Oppenheimer. Best Actor, Cillian Murphy in Oppenheimer. Supporting Actor, Robert Downey Jr. in Oppenheimer. The only interesting category, Best Actress, toss up between Emma Stone in Poor Things, and Lily Gladstone in Killers of The Flower Moon. I like Emma. Oscars are Sunday.

So Hannah Reed, the armorer on the movie Rust, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Halyna Hutchins and faces 18 months in jail. So look for Alec Baldwin to be found guilty of the same thing and same sentence.

Say what? 58 year old Mike Tyson is going to fight 27 year old Jake Paul at Cowboy stadium in July and televised on Netflix? This can’t be for real can it? I mean there are laws against elder abuse! If it really happens, I’m going to be in Dallas, gotta see this one!

More Ridiculous, Katy Perry showing her butt crack Wednesday night at the Billboards Awards for Women in Music. Class act that Katy Perry, also has a class ass.

And it’s Friday, and while Dune: Part Two will be the big winner at the Box Office, the best movie opening today, in my opinion is, Cabrini, starring Cristiana Dell’Anna who plays Francesca Cabrini. In 1890 Ms. Cabrini came to New York from Italy and saw suffering children, and fought and built orphanages, schools, hospitals and fed the starving poor. YES, another true story from the great Angel Studios. My favorite movie of the year. (4 Stars) Movie makes me want to sing.
