You may know I worked for the New York Post years ago, and for the last 22 years I get Post Bulletins, usually hours before you would see the story. Well yesterday morning I had a Doctor’s appointment when my cell beeped with the Post bulletin that Harvey Weinstein’s New York rape conviction had been overturned on a technicality! Thank God that I was at the doctors because I almost fainted. Sleeze had been convicted of raping women in New York! Remember he was also convicted of rapes in California, so at least he will remain in prison there. Harvey Weinsleaze is the most despicable human being I’ve ever met, and I met O.J. Simpson.
Movie Review Friday: Opening today, Unsung Hero. The true story of a family that came from Australia with no money but hopes and dreams of a musical career and leaning heavenly on their Christian belief. They would eventually be the nucleolus of the band, For King and Country. This is a great, feel good family movie. Everybody in the cast is great including Lucas Black from NCIS and Sling Blade. Can’t say enough good things about this movie, take the kids (Rated PG) – (1 Hour 52 Minutes) – (4 Stars). Sidebar, I loved Sling Blade and Lucas Black was just 10 years old in the movie and when talking about his stepdad Doyle he said, “I’d like to kill that son of a bitch, I hate him.” Billy Bob Thornton said, “You ought not talk like that, you just a boy.”
Someone Likes You also opens today from Karen Kingsbury novel of the same name! When Jake Allyn best friend and love interest tragically dies, he finds out that she has a secret twin, and makes it his life to find her. And you guessed it, new love is also found. This is a chick’s chick flick. Bring a handkerchief, it’s a tear jerker like you can’t believe! If you like this kind of movie, you’ll love, Someone Likes You (3 Stars) – (1 Hour 58 Minutes).
Besides those two movies, remember I had two 4 star movies last week that are still playing. The all true war comedy, Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, and the horror comedy, Abigail. So some great movies playing this weekend.
