Post for Monday, July 13th

Pop Quiz: Name the female star who is an avid tennis player, plays everyday. Is it Melissa McCarthy, Betty White, Oprah, Honey Boo Boo’s mom? I never said they were likely tennis players, just liked to play.

Reminds me, as predicted, Serena Williams won Wimbeldon and I think she’ll win the U.S. Open next month, the Grand Slam, which I hope to go see in N.Y.

I was hoping to see Caitlyn Jenner and girlfriend, transgender, Candis Cayne at the Boa Saturday night, but despite a reservation they were a no-show.

One Again Whoopi Goldberg spent the weekend calling people bigots for calling Bill Cosby is a rapist. And amazingly continues to compare those Duke Lacrosse players to Cosby. Remember those players who were arrested for rape were released when the mentally disturbed girl admitted she lied. Hey Whoopi, none of those Lacrosse guys testified under oath they bought quaaludes for the purpose of drugging and sexually attacking women. Which Cosby did admit in a depositions!

Postscript: Cosby’s longtime wife insists all the women consented. Okay.

Odds and Ends: Odd that Chelsea Clinton attended Nikki Hilton’s wedding this weekend, odd because the Clintons and Hilton’s have never been close. … I miss David Letterman and I’m reminded of the very best Letterman quote, “America is the only country where a significant proportion of the population believes wrestling is real but landing on the Moon was fakes.” … Traveling this summer? According to a national survey, worse airport TSA’s, are JFK, Kansas City, Chicago, Miami, and Dulles in Washington. … If you are ever in NYC, you can walk through the actual Seinfeld set, free.

History: July 13. 1923, the Hollywood Sign is dedicated, originally called Hollywoodland, selling Hollywood Hills land, and the first buyers were Hal Roach, Mary Pickford and Charley Chaplin.
