Movie Reviews: opening the next 10 days, both great Period pieces. Brad Pitt has produced Lost City Of Z. Set in 1910 about a British explorer who sets off to the Amazon in search for the hidden city. Beautiful cinematography, an epic, that also feels like a history lesson. A great action, adventure that is also a love story (PG-13) – 140 Minutes) — (3 Stars). True Story.
And another period piece, Quiet Passion, a delicate albeit A little slow, however it’s compelling. It’s the true life story of Poet Emily Dickinson. And Cynthia Nixon deserves Oscar consideration. Complex, Subtle tension and great story telling (PG-13) — (2 Hours) – (3 Stars).
Friday I’ll review, Tommy’s Honor and Fate Of The Furious. And speaking of Furious, the 2 co-stars, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Vin Diesel hate each other so much, they don’t talk and both have threatened to beat crap out of each other.
