Love nuggets – The Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas break-up has not been as friendly as we’ve been told. Melanie has spent the past few weeks getting Antonio tattoos removed and word that Antonio wondered off the reservation. Katie Couric and John Molner are getting married in the Hamptons tomorrow.
TV News – Emmy ballots go out today. The expected front runners in comedy shows are Veep and Big Bang Theory. The ACTORS are Jim Parsons and Louie CK. The best actress is Edie Falco and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Emmy telecast is August 25. Sunday night it’s war when America’s Got Talent goes head to head against ABC’s new singing competition show, Rising Star (like we NEED another singing competition show). What DOES make Rising Star different is that there is a free APP for the show and when you vote for a contestant, it’s instantly tallied and shown.
Weird Best Friends – Courtney Love and Gwyneth Paltrow talk everyday. Also, way back, Charlie Chaplain and Albert Einstein were best friends.
Two best quotes of the day – When Angelina Jolie was asked about her and Brad Pitt she says, “Our souls are married, we are together till death do us part”. When Blake Lively was asked if she reads tabloids she says, “No I read the bible”.
