TV History: In a new book about American Bandstand in the 1950’s the two most popular teenage dancing couples were Ken Rossi and Arlene Sullivan and Justine Carelli and Bill Clayton they were portrayed as being in true love. However the book says, they were actually in love with each others partners! Ken was in love with Bill, Arlene was in love with Justine. Dick Clark and the network knew they were gay, but kept it secret till now.
TV Review: Trial and Error stars John Lithgow and it’s an odd, unusual, fabulous comedy. Lithgow plays a bisexual genius accused of murdering his wife by pushing her through a plate glass window, then puts a 911 operator on hold while he makes an appointment with the TV cable guy who’s on call waiting. Said it was strange. The show is shot like The Office, NBC tonight ( 3 Stars).
Quickies: Tyra Banks as the new host of America’s Got Talent, are you kidding? During her last show, contestants, staff and crew quit because of her horrific, mean treatment of them. She was miserable to everybody. … Second, when O.J. gets out of jail, he will not be getting a reality show, however, he’s already talking to Celebrity Big Brother in England. And Nick Cage’s son Weston is headed to jail, despite Nick pulling out all stops to stop it. Weston lead cops on chase when drunk, that carries mandatory jail.
