TV Reviews: More docu-drama than a biopic, tonight AMC airs the first of the 8 part series, Making of the Mob in New York. Narrated by Ray Liotta, the series starts in 1905 and revisits actual gangster haunts, from Meyer Lansky to Lucky Luciano to Bugsy Siegel to John Gotti. If you liked Boardwalk Empire, you will love this. (4 Stars)

Next Sunday is the premier of the 2nd season of True Detective, however, minus Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey, and replaced by Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn and Racial McAdams. The show has been moved from the bayou to Los Angeles. Visually it is as good, the story line is solid, however it’s hard to beat the original but it comes close. You’ll like it. (3 Stars)

Lastly, Under the Dome Season 3 debuts June 25th. This show is like trying to turn away from an automobile accident happening in front of you. The plot is still interesting, but the acting and writing is ridiculous and bad. (2 Stars)

Odds and Ends: Caitlyn Jenner has been offered a couple speaking engagements and while she has not booked any, the price is, $ 100,000 per speech. … Paris Hilton threw one heck of a bachlorette party for her sister Nikki in Miami last Saturday. Dinner, Open bar, band, strippers cost $250,000.
