All local newscasts are inept, after those bombs went off at 8:30 in NY Saturday, not 1 local NY TV newscast covered the story on their 10 or 11 newscasts.

Movie News: Preview update, I haven’t seen it yet, but know a lot about the soon to be released film, “Hacksaw Ridge”, the true story about Desmond Doss a WW2 Consensus Objector who insisted to do his part in the war but wouldn’t carry a gun, eventually earned the Medal Of Honor a hero who saved American lives thru bravery, never say quit and faith. Mel Gibson Directs, Got to be 4 stars.

There has been a noticeable absent of black actors nominated for Oscars over the past few years. Prediction, not this year. Denzel Washington will get a nod for Director and Actor as will Viola Davis for acting in the movie, Fences. Naomie Harris will be nominated in the film Moonlight, about drugs in Miami. Octavia Spencer will get the nod for her performance  in Hidden Figure. And the hotter than hot Aja Naomi King will be nominated for Birth of a Nation.

Date in History, Sept 19. 1967, Jim Abbott, born with one arm, threw a no-hitter against the Yankees and don’t forget Peg, as his friends called him, also won Olympic Gold in 1988.
