The Great Vin Scully calls his last Dodger game Sunday in SF. But at his good-by at Dodger stadium, Vinny (89) told this great story saying, “When I was 8 years old I was walking home from school in Brooklyn by a radio store, they were playing a baseball game, and I’ll never forget the huge roar of the crowd and when I heard it, I fell in love with the game. And I want to thank you, the fans, because every time I’ve heard you let out a roar over the past 67 years, you made me feel 8 years old again.”

Another baseball story, with all the talk of Tim Tebow hitting a Home Run his first at bat, I am reminded of Hall Of Fame pitcher, Hoyt Wilhelm who pitched his last games with the Dodgers, the first year I traveled with the team. We were sitting in the dugout and I said Hoyt, you hit a home run your very first at bat but since then, 5,376 at bats later,  you never hit another one, what’s up. Hoyt, an old southerner said, hell, everybody spewing how hard it was, after hitting one home run, never tried to hit another.

Answer – Kid Rock.
