Report for Wednesday, Mar 23rd

Love Nugget: On Monday, Caitlyn Jenner celebrated the birth of her 20th grandchild. Caitlyn’s grandkids have always called her Papa, but says this one will call him Nana. Hey, that’s a true story.

This Sunday’s Oscar Show is gearing up to be one of the best in years. Insider tells me the opening monologue is hilarious, despite the three hosts, Amy Shumer, Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall. There will be a great tribute to The Godfather and James Bond films marking their 50th year anniversaries. Presenters include Jennifer Garner, Hale Berry,  Tyler Perry, P Diddy, Woody Harrelson, Chris Rock, Lady Gaga, John Travolta, and my personal lap dancer Jamie Lee Curtis! And Bill Murray will present and do a skit! Music is suppose to be exceptional as well.

The Oscar parties are off and running and last night at one of my favorite restaurants, Musso and Franks, the Night for Young Hollywood. Co-hosted by the Liquorish Pizza breakout star, Alana Haim and West Side Story’s Ariana DeBose. … Tonight at the Samuel Goldwyn theater, the party for all the producers of the nominated documentaries where all the movies are shown and discussed. Tough ticket to get.

Movies News: The book, Run Rose Run, by award winning novelist James Patterson and Dolly Parton is #1 on the N.Y. Times Best Seller list. It is about a young country girl who goes to Nashville to be a star. And now it will be a movie, starring Dolly Parton and be produced by Reese Witherspoon. This has the makings of a huge hit film.

TV News: And don’t miss, The Offer, debuting on Paramount+ next Monday, a biography/drama, great stars in a limited series of never before, behind the scenes, scoop on the making of the Godfather. From pre-production to post production (4 Stars). … I seldom agree with Courteney Cox but agree with her when she said, “From the old, Honeymooners, I Love Lucy, Andy Griffith, All In The Family, Newhart, Taxi, M.A.S.H., Cheers, Office, Frazier, Friends, Seinfeld, they just don’t make funny Shows anymore.” I agree 100%.
