It was one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen. At 8:50 A.M. yesterday morning Tony Dow’s wife made the announcement that Tony had passed. At 1:40 PM, his wife Lauren announced he was still alive! At this posting Tony is alive but in Hospice and understand his hours are numbered! I first met Tony in the late 1970’s at Pinks Hot Dog stand. We exchanged numbers, he was my guest a dozen times at KROQ. The last time I saw Tony was for lunch at his home while doing a profile on him for the New York Post. I have often said, the two nicest people I’ve ever met are Vin Scully and Tony Dow.
TV News: Checkout the great six part documentary currently on HBO entitled, The Last Movie Stars, the inside story of Paul Newman and wife Joanne Woodward (4 Stars)! … I am blown away that the producers of Jeopardy have decided to keep juggling two hosts, Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings. They’re okay but there’s got to be someone better out there.
5 Odds and Ends: IMG Modeling Agency has resigned Paris Jackson to a multi-million dollar contract extension. Paris will specialize in hair, make-up and leisure wear. … The London Sun reports when Harry and Meghan were in England for the Queen’s Jubilee, there were 11 formal activities, Harry and Meghan were invited to only one of those activities and the Queen was not present at the formal activity! That tells the whole story! … They’re trying to keep it quiet, but the L/A Int. airport has a serious problem, 90% of the TSA staff at the American Airlines and Southwest terminals have come down with coronavirus! … 78 year old Joni Mitchell made a rare concert appearance at the Newport Folk Festival and knocked them dead. Love oldies but goodies! One of the best concerts I’ve seen, Carole King and James Taylor. … And speaking of Oldies, Mick Jagger turned 79 yesterday and you may not have known but he has fathered 8 children, sang back up for his favorite singer Carly Simon, and auditioned for Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the Rocky Horror movie but didn’t get it.
