Report for Wednesday, Feb 9th

Love Nugget: Love it that after having his 8th child, Nick Cannon was gifted a full size vending machine filled with nothing but different types, colors, sizes of condoms.

Oscar nominations were yesterday and as I predicted The Power of the Dog was going to dominate nominations and it did, getting the most with 12 nominations. Dune was second with 10. Nominations for The Power of the Dog including two actors for best actor, best supporting actress, sound, score, editing, adapted screenplay, director, best picture and many others. Wow! … As I said, Dune, other than incredible effects, I’m just not a fan. … The most obvious snubs were Lady Gaga in House of Gucci, Leonardo DiCaprio in Don’t Look Up, Frances McDormand in Macbeth, and the biggest snub in my opinion is Jennifer Hudson in Respect and her portrayal of Aretha Franklin. Oscars are March 27th.

And in case you missed it, the Razzies have been announced. The worst of the worst in nominated for the worst actor, Bruce Willis in American Siege, Bruce Willis in Apex, Bruce Willis in Cosmic Sin, Bruce Willis in Deadlock, Bruce Willis in Fortress, Bruce Willis in Out of Death, Bruce Willis in Survive the Game.

Movie News: If you liked Bohemian Rhapsody, the Freddy Mercury story you will love The Michael Jackson Story from the same producers. Coming in 2023.

Odds and Ends: Former California Angels PR guy Eric Kay goes on trial today for supplying fentanyl to Angels Pitcher that killed him. Several MLB players will testify. … And this is very odd, celebrities with very weird eating habits, David Beckham eats snails, escargot, everyday! Channing Tatum eats peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with Cheetos mixed in, Nicholas Cage doesn’t eat red meat but eats birds and fish, and Gene Simmons eats cereal every morning, but with crushed ice with the milk.

Super Bowl Note: The big three NFL Commentators are Tony Romo, Troy Aikman and Cris Collinsworth. My three favorites in order are Tony, Troy, and Chris in third. Interesting, Chris played for the Bengals in their only two super bowl appearances and he’s working Sunday. Should add a lot of history and emotion to the broadcast.
