Report for Wednesday, Dec 23rd

Merry Christmas Eve eve! We have a bunch of new movie and TV news.

Movie News: Big fan of Salma Hayek and she has been busy. Currently starring in Fatale, a suspenseful thriller where Salma plays a cop who hooks up for a one night stand with a happily married sports agent that spins into a twisted terrorizing tale! I liked it a lot (3 Stars). … And three Salma movies are shot, in the can, all in post production and releasing in 2021. First, Bliss, that co-stars Owen Wilson. A scary science fiction movie that has Salma and Owen hooking up and living is an alternative world. … Next, Eternals. Another Science Fiction film co-starring Angelina Jolie about a race of immortal beings who lived on earth who actually shaped history and civilization. … And, coming this Summer, Samuel L. Jackson, Morgan Freeman, and Ryan Reynolds join Salma in The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, the sequel of the 2017 comedy  Hitman’s Bodyguard. Salma is a busy girl.

TV News: The Morning Show with Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carell are shooting their next season and I’m hearing there’ll be some big surprises. I loved the first season. … Alex Trebek’s final Jeopardy will air on Christmas night, filmed just a few weeks before his passing. Alex’s tentative replacement, Ken Jennings is already hosting new shows, however, there are more and more stories that Jennings may know trivia, but the guy is a politically incorrect creep. Making fun of the handicapped, family deaths, etc. Alex must be spinning in his grave and once this gets out, Ken could be and should be thrown out! … And a quick movie review on Prime, Uncle Frank. A really creative story about Uncle Frank (and we all have one) who’s loved but an outcast. The family knows he’s strange, but don’t know he’s gay. Family learns a lot about Uncle Frank (3 Stars).

Next year there will be a TV mini-series called, The Godfather. An inside look at behind the scenes of the film franchise. It will feature Godfather producer Al Ruddy and also include interviews from the stars. F.Y.I. Godfather cost $6 million and has made $246 million.
