Report for Tuesday, May 16th

Love Nugget: When Britney Spears and Sam Asghari married last June, I wished them well and hung the over/under how long it would last at 18 months, and I took the under. Rumors getting louder, the marriage is hanging by a thread. Sam denies it, stay tuned!

Great documentary debuts tonight on Netflix, Anna Nicole Smith: You Don’t Know Me. This two hour documentary follows Anna’s tragic life from super model, sex symbol to a tragic punchline. Never before seen footage of her and interviews from friends, family, lovers, her personal photographer, even the doctor who was originally charged with supplying the drugs that killed her and the story of the 90 year old billionaire she married, the birth of her daughter, the death of her son, the next day of an overdose and then Anna’s death months later. On Netflix (3 Stars). … Speaking of documentaries, there’s one on the drawing board about many more people dying from over the border drugs than are shot to death every week in America. That’s not good.

Surprising Movie News: Director/Producer David Mamet who has been retired for 10 years is coming back to make the movie, Assassination, the story of how the Chicago mob was behind the John F. Kennedy assassination and will star John Travolta, Al Pacino, Courtney Love, Shia Labeouf and many others. Pre-production by year’s end. … That reminds me, some show business business. The writers strike shows no sign of ending, if anything, writers are digging in and productions are starting to shut down.

Shocking Bulletin: It is now projected that Miley Cyrus will make a billion dollars on her current concert tour. And the exit poll of people who have seen it give the show a 99.3 positive rating. Words like relatable, true, honest, family friendly, great songs and presentation. 44 songs with all perfect pitch. I can’t remember any concert with such raves. I have never seen Miley, but she is very special and worthy of note. Some of my favorite concerts are Prince, Jimi Hendrix, Queen, the Rolling Stones, Styx, The Eagles, The Beatles, The Boss and Depeche Mode, just to name a few.
