Report for Tuesday, June 22nd

So there’s a big story, Martin Scorsese is going to retire. Well as Nixon would say, that’s just plain Poppycock. Scorsese has already signed to direct and produce the movie, Byron Janis, the story of the American classic pianist. Then he’ll direct the TV mini-series, Tyson, starring Jamie Foxx. Next Scorsese will produce, Devil in the White City, the true story of the 1893 World’s Fair and a serial killer. Then Martin is directing a TV Series called, The Caesars, about ancient Rome. Martin has also signed to direct and produce a biopic, Silver Ghost, the stories of Mr. Rolls and Mr. Royce set in 1906 when the boys introduced the first Rolls-Royce. Then there’s the biographical movie, The Roosevelts, all about Theodore and the Rough Riders. And Martin Scorsese will also produce and Direct, Maestro, the Leonard Bernstein biopic which was written by, stars and will be directed by Bradley Cooper. Scorsese has several other commitments that I left out. But one thing for sure, Martin Scorsese isn’t going anywhere.

All the others took huge dumps in the TV ratings. … Nobody knows the exact figure, but Jennifer Lopez has been given a ton of money for a first look deal at Netflix and now Jennifer wants Ben Affleck to be included. … Interesting, with covid in the rear view mirror, there has been drastic decline in new subscribers for Netflix and Disney+, down as much as 35% from last year.

Odds and Ends: So Will Smith’s book of his life will be released in November but will it include his Scientology ties, his infidelity, his defunct disgraced school, his friendship with Farrakhan and support of the Nation of Islam. Some of this is bound to be controversial. … Final Father’s Day nugget, Justin Timberlake carries a video on his cell phone of his 11 month old son Phineas who started walking at 10 months and he has the video to prove it.
