Report for Tuesday, July 23rd

Thought we’d do at least one more day about vacations, and according to Triple A and Americana magazine, these are the 4 biggest and best State Fairs but which is #1? Is it New York, Texas, Minnesota or the state fair they call The Big E?

Movie News: I have been following, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, since the first day of shooting 2 years ago. It was shot at the Fred Rogers Studios in Pittsburgh. When the project was suggested, Fred’s widow Joanne personally called Tom Hanks and asked him to play her husband, and Tom accepted, he is terrific! Tom Hanks has been a huge fan of Fred Rogers for 50 years. The movie is also about a writer who shadowed Rogers, wrote an article about Rogers, and who’s life was changed forever by hanging out with Rogers. Trailer is out now, the movie this Thanksgiving. F.Y.I., as nice as Hanks is playing Mr. Rogers, Hanks next plays the hideous, mean Col. Tom Parker in the upcoming Elvis Presley biopic. More F.Y.I., Tom Hanks is the nicest celebrity I’ve ever met. … The Michael Jackson biopic has been green lighted. While Jacko’s estate is against it, the unauthorized film should be very factual since Jackson’s closest friends and associates are involved.

Odds and Ends: I don’t know what your house payment of rent is but the average rent for a 2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom apartment in Lubbock, Texas is $575. The average 2 Bedroom 2 Bathroom apartment in San Francisco is $4,750.

Answer – #4 New York State Fair, who brag about the beef steak Sundays, #3 The Big E Fair is one huge fair put together by Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Vermont and held in Springfield, Massachusetts, #2 Been there and it’s a blast, Minnesota State Fair. Featuring deep fried Twinkies and they have over 80 foods served on sticks. #1 is Texas State Fair in Dallas, it’s a two week blowout topped off by the Texas/Oklahoma football game on the fairs grounds, at the Cotton Bowl
