Now that the dust has settled, a look at the Top 5 box office movies this weekend. #5 Immaculate, #4 Kung Fu Panda 4, #3 Dune: Part Two, #2 despite Rotten Tomatoes ripping it, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. However #1 was Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which stomped all the competition.
And since we are talking ratings, here are the Top 5 most watched television shows last week. #5 March Madness Post Game show, #4 60 Minutes, #3 Tracker, #2 ABC World News Tonight with David Muir, and #1, no surprise, NCAA March Madness. … Regarding the TV show Tracker with Justin Hartley. There have been five episodes. For me, two have been well written, interesting and compelling. The other three episodes have been dull, goofy, predictable and some of the corniest writing I’ve ever seen on television. Very odd. How can a series be so good one week and so corny the next? Again, very odd. … More ratings, I told you about Jake Gyllenhaal and Conor McGregor co-starring in a remake of Patrick Swayze and Sam Elliot’s 1989 movie, Road House. I also said I didn’t particularly like the original and to be honest haven’t seen the remake. However according to Amazon, where the remake is streaming, it’s their biggest streaming movie ever with over 50 million views. Still don’t know if it’s any good, I’ll watch it this week.
Odds and Ends: A lot of folks don’t remember one of Hollywood’s all time greats who won Oscars for The French Connection, Unforgiven and nominated for many others. However, I am thrilled to announce, after not being seen for 20 years, 94 year old Gene Hackman, was spotted with his 64 year old wife leaving a Trader Joe Saturday in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
