Report for Thursday, Sept 22nd

Today’s report originates from Washington D.C.

TV News: Debuting today on Netflix, Dahmer. All the sordid, shocking, disgusting story of Jeffrey Dahmer, who ate the people he killed and he killed a lot of young boys. Got to tell you, Evan Peters doesn’t just look like Dahmer, he captures the murderer to a tee! Too disturbing, graphic, sick and upsetting.

Movie News: Later this week, the movie, Hot Take: The Depp/Heard trial. And it stars Mark Hapka as Johnny Depp and Megan Davis is Amber Heard. It was two months of root canal when it was happening, why would anybody watch this? On Tubi if you care.

Movie News: And head’s up, get ready for, Empire of Light, coming Christmas. It’s a romantic drama set in the early 1980’s in England, about a theater that’s dying because of the economy and an inside story of love and a fading lifestyle. The great Sam Mendes wrote and directed and stars Olivia Colman and Colin Firth. … If you are an Avatar fan, it is being re-released this week. And Avatar: The Way of Water will be released on December 16th. But get ready, there’s talk the new one will be 4 hours. … Indiana Jones 5 is in post-production with Harrison Ford, Antonio Banderas and Toby Jones. It’s another adventure but this time Ford is searching for Noah’s Arc.

Music Note: It is true Mariah Carey recorded an alternative rock album in 1995 but never released it, but she is now and I hear is great.

Sports Shorts: Here’s a weird one, two Michael Jordan jerseys, a pair of Ali gloves and Tiger Woods golf clubs brought in more money at an auction than it cost to build Boston’s Fenway Park, the Boston Gardens and Chicago’s Wrigley Field. That’s amazing. … Don’t know if I ever shared this but the first time I met the great Monday Night Football play-by-play guy, Al Michaels, was long before Monday Night Football. It was back in Hawaii when Al was the play-by-play guy for the minor league baseball team, the Hawaiian Islanders. Come a long way baby!
