Report for Thursday, Sept 1st

TV News: Another reminder, please checkout The Patient on Hulu. Steve Carell is a psychiatrist, kidnapped and held prisoner by one of his patients who is a serial killer.

Shocking Ratings: The MTV Awards, which I have refused to attend the last 20 years, drew only 3 million viewers this week, while being carried on 13 networks. That’s sad.

Thursday’s I like to do birthday updates and mini-profiles. Today Lily Tomlin turns 83 but unfortunately is still in the hospital not doing well at all. Barry Gibb turns 74 today and the lone survivor of the Bee Gee brothers. Andy died in 1988, Maurice died in 2003 and Robin in 2012. More Barry Gibb, Michael Jackson is Godfather to Barry’s son Michael and with the Bee Gees success, Barry is worth $160 million. And FYI, there’s been talk of a Bee Gees biopic for 3 years and Paramount Studios has just green lighted the project and now there’s a script, and it’s going to happen. Speaking of birthdays, it’s my birthday month but don’t ask how old I am!

Odds and Ends: What a joke, Jennifer Lopez  is furious that a video of the part of her wedding where she serenaded Ben leaked out to social media. Really? There were 100 people there and 15 paparazzi invited. What did she expect? Jennifer joins many other celebrities I say, shut the front door.

How does “The Rock” keep that incredible physique? Well when he goes out to eat, he takes his own raw food and written directions how it should be prepared by the chief. I used to take my favorite super rich Canadian Maple Syrup to restaurants for my breakfast waffles but I was just thrown out.

It’s September, last month of baseball races and football starts and I want to mention one of the biggest losers in sports, Los Angeles Angels owner Art Moreno who has owned the Angels almost 20 years and has only won one World Series and while I’m at it, there are two teams everybody raves about that I predict will not make their play-offs. the NFL New England Patriots and the NBA Lakers.
