Movie News: It’s time to talk about Avatar. First, the original Avatar opened in 2009, it ran 2 hours 49 minutes and cost $237 million to make but to date has made almost $3 billion. Okay, now the new “Avatar: The Way of Water.” It will be released December 16th and it’s running time is close to 4 hours. Oddly enough, 73 year old Sigourney Weaver plays a 14 year old girl and also stars Sam Worthington and Kate Winslet. The film cost $1 billion to make and because of the length, theater owners complain they have to run it fewer times a day than a regular length movie. It could be a bust, what say you? … Will Smith had a private showing Monday at his home theater showing his new film, Emancipation and invited Dave Chappelle, Rihanna, Tyler Perry and others and after seeing the movie all agreed it is Oscar worthy. In fact I am hearing that from everybody who’s seen the movie or worked on it. It’s in theaters December 2nd and on Apple TV December 9th.
