Report for Thursday, May 9th

Lot’s of TV News Today. The people behind The Office have gotten the green light to a copy type show on Peacock. It will not be the paper company Dunder Mifflin, instead it will be set at a failing Midwest newspaper. And instead of Steve Carell, the main star of this show will be Domhnall Gleeson, Brendan Gleeson’s son.

Saturday Night Live have announced the two final hosts of the 2024 season. On May 11th it will be Maya Rudolph and on the finale on May 18th, it’ll be Jake Gyllenhaal. Speaking of Saturday Night Live, Lorne Michaels will produce the 20th Century Fox biopic called, The Chris Farley Show In Three Acts. It will be directed by Josh Gad, written by Chris’s brother Tom Farley Jr. and Paul Walter Houser will play Chris. May he rest in peace!

TV Show Biz Business: Direct and Dish TV lost 349,000 subscribers the first quarter. No surprise!

5-0 News: A.K.A crime beat. Is It True at least one more sexual assault criminal charge is to be filed against Kevin Spacey. He’s beaten three other trials, but stay tuned. … And so Harvey Weinstein was thrilled when he heard his New York rape conviction was over-turned and a re-trial ordered. Well not so fast there Sleeze. Already convicted in Los Angeles of sex crimes and serving easy time there in a private cell with TV and a nice bed, not so now. Flown back to New York for the retrial, which wont start till September 9th, Sleeze is now waiting at the filthy, dangerous Rikers Prison in New York with three cellmates.

Huge Broadway News: One of my favorite people, Robert Downey Jr., will make his Broadway debut in October. The play is called McNeal, but the story line is being kept a secret, but I plan to be there opening night.
