TV News: I was with the N.Y. Post for two years and the day I joined them, the front page had a blurry black and white photo, hard to make out, but a closer look showed it was somebody from long range laying on a cot. The headline screamed, “Sam Sleeps.” It was August 1977, and the Son of Sam had just been arrested. He admitted to killing at least 8 people, but as the years have passed some believe a cult was behind him and the murders. Available now, on Netflix, The Son of Sam: A Decent into Darkness. So was there a conspiracy? Far fetched but this documentary is worth watching, on Netflix. … The EPIX Network has green lighted the eighth episode western, Billy The Kid. They are still looking for a lead actor and it will be directed by Peaky Blinders’ Otto Bathurst. … Personally, I think The Conners TV show, how do I put this, stinks. However, the show has been renewed and John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf and Sara Gilbert just got huge raises, north of $300,000 each per episode. I don’t get it.
