Movie Review Time: Rocketman is better than Ray and better than Bohemian Rhapsody. In the beginning Reginald Dwight started writing songs as a teenager that actually guided his life to becoming the superstar Elton John. From the awkward teen to one of the biggest rock stars ever, his sexuality, his superstitions and his determination are all believable. Elton is the only rock superstar I’ve never seen but have tickets to finally see him in November in Boston. The movie will hold me over till then. Taron Egerton plays Elton, and guarantee he will get an Oscar nomination. Fabulous! (Rated R) – (2 Hours) – (4 Stars).
Early Movie Review: You want bizarre, Adam Driver and Bill Murray are two small town cops who notice the sun isn’t going down and there are zombies everywhere. The movie is The Dead Don’t Die. It also stars Steve Buscemi, Tilda Swinton, Austin Butler, Danny Glover, and Salena Gomez. It’s an odd 1950’ish B-horror movie, but very entertaining in a tongue in cheek and wink way. (Rated R) – (101 Minutes) – (2 ½ Stars).
It’s graduation time and people who keep track of commencement speeches say the best was presented by actor John Krasinski who went back to his Alma Mater Brown University. It was called hilarious, encouraging, uplifting, positive yet warned of real-life pitfalls. (4 Stars).
