Love Nugget: While Angelina Jolie has reportedly been coaching her and Brad’s kids on what to say when their divorce battle goes to court, this week a judge ruled that none of the kids will be allowed to testify. Instead the judge gave Brad 50/50 custody.
And despite a very public shaky marriage, David and Victoria Beckham now seem to be happily forever together, even planning a series of vacations together, just the two of them.
Opening today, A Quiet Place Part 2. Written and directed by John Krasinski and believe it or not it’s better than the original. Besides Krasinski writing and directing it and also makes a brief appearance as a set-up. This is the best movie of the year. Emily Blunt has never been better. Their daughter Regan Abbott is played brilliantly by Millicent Simmonds who is actually deaf and is perfect in this movie. Cillian Murphy from Peaky Blinders is also fabulous. But the biggest star is Krasinski. His direction keeps you on the edge of your seat as well as jumping out of your seat. Tension packed. The audience sees disasters long before the characters which takes the suspense to another level. Just when you think it’s safe to take a breath you’re gasping for air again. Krasinski’s writing is as good as it gets, just amazing. By the way, John’s best friend and roommate at Brown University is George Harrison’s son, Dhani Harrison. And F.Y.I. Krasinnski’s father and brother both surgeons and John sheepishly admits he’s always had a crush on Vanna White. As for the movie, (Under 2 Hours) – (Rated R) – (4 Big Stars).
Odds and Ends: In case you missed it, Kelly Clarkson will take over Ellen’s daytime slot. … Very surprising, The Monkees Micky Dolenz has recorded an album of the Monkees’ Mike Nesmith’s songs and it sold out on Amazon in one day.
