Report for Thursday, July 15th

Early Movie Review: And it’s one of the strangest reviews I have ever done. The movie is Pig. When I heard about it I thought it’s just another Nicolas Cage stinker. In this one, Cage and his pig are living in the Forest hunting for Oregon Truffles. When the pig is stolen, Cage leaves the forest and heads to Portland’s finest restaurants in search for who stole his truffle loving pig. After seeing it, and despite Hollywood Reporter panning it, I’m calling it one of the best movies of the year. Artsy fartsy almost to a fault but it’s touching, deep, honest, sympathetic and thought provoking. And it is by far the best acting in Nick Cage’s career. Some of you who swear I’m on the pipe, however, for me this Rated R, mystery, thriller, drama is 4 Stars.
