And studios have made the decision to wait till the Covid is over and done, things back to normal and all theaters re-open before releasing their biggest pictures. The latest James Bond movie, No Time to Die, was set for an April 2020 release, then November 2020, then February 2021, now Thanksgiving. … Aretha Franklin’s biopic, Respect, originally set for last Memorial Day is also set for Thanksgiving. Hopefully things will be back to normal. … But there are also several huge parking lots in L.A. defunct shopping centers setting up outdoor theaters for movies, plays and concerts. Coming next month.
For the last 10 days, Dodger Stadium, Disneyland and Six Flags in Los Angeles have been set up for vaccine distribution, but the vaccines never arrived. That’s happening all over the country. I hear major distribution will happen the day after the inauguration.
And speaking of the inauguration, it will be largely virtual but I have learned wanting to perform live or virtually at the inauguration include Bruce Springsteen, John Legend, Jimmy Buffett, Jennifer Hudson and Stevie Wonder. We’ll see.
TV News: A Netflix documentary on Richard Ramirez called Night Stalker is great! I was in L.A. during his 2 year rape and murder rampage. Last night was the first of a four part documentary. Hard to watch but worth seeing. A true monster. … The second part of HBO’s documentary called Tiger, the story of Tiger Woods, will air Sunday. The first part was soft fuzzy and heart warming. But the second part starts off Rachel Uchitel, Tiger’s first of many extramarital relationships also the use of drugs, and much more. An amazing story that’s shocking and compelling (4 Stars).
