Report for Monday, Feb 6th

Movie News: Steven King calls his latest book, Billy Summers, one of his best and it’s coming to the big screen thanks to two producers got the deal done. J.J. Abrams who produced and directed the Star Wars franchise and the other producer is a surprise, Leonardo DiCaprio. With no casting yet, I wouldn’t be surprised if Leonardo hires himself for the leading role. It’s about a hitman who has one final job in a very small town.

No surprise Jermaine Jackson’s son, Michael Jackson’s nephew Jaafar Jackson will play Jacko in the Michael Jackson biopic. Jaafar (26) has been doing impressions of his famous uncle since he was 5 years old and Jaafar dances as good or better than Michael and he sounds just like Michael as well. I think this could be a huge movie.

TV News: After 10 season’s, NBC has pulled the plug on Blacklist. It was about time. … Meanwhile, 1923 season 2  has been picked up by Paramount+. … Hey, don’t forget Peacock’s Poker Face, which I strongly recommend….  And Woody Harrelson will host Saturday Night Live in 3 weeks.

If you like Hollywood history and the real scoop about the biggest stars, you have got to read the book, Get Mahoney by Jim Mahoney. Jim is 95 years old but was best friends, personal public relation manager and publicist to Clark Gable, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Carson, Bob Newhart, Steve McQueen, Marilyn Monroe and about 40 others. And he has stories in his book that will blow your mind. Incredible stuff.

Priscilla Presley has declared war on her grandchildren. She wants a big chunk of Lisa’s estate. Comment, Priscilla divorced Elvis 50 years ago and she agreed to a settlement back then, doubt it included cockroaching her grandchildren out of their inheritance.

Everyday this week, I’ll have a couple Super Bowl nuggets. First, along with the super commercials, the first trailers for The Flash, FAST X, Transformers and Ant-Man will all get their first public preview during the game. Tomorrow I’ll have two things you didn’t know about the Kansas City and Eagles quarterbacks.
