Report for Friday, Sept 10th

Love Nuggets: You heard that Jennifer Lawrence is expecting her first baby with husband Cooke Maroney. I really like Jennifer and here are a couple things you probably didn’t know about her. She was discovered by a photographer while visiting New York City with her mother and standing at a subway station. She is a natural blond, has the sexiest eyes in Hollywood and at 23 is the youngest actor to be nominated for 3 Oscars. I like her. … Nick Cannon just celebrated the birth of his seventh child and says he wants three more!

Only have one movie review for you and while Rotten Tomatoes gave Queenpins only 40%, I actually liked this ridiculous, over the top, goofy movie about two housewives who need money and have devised a way counterfeiting coupons for the grocery, we’re talking about tens of millions of dollars worth. The Feds are hot on their trial along with SWAT and oh yeah, based on a true story. I mean it’s stupid, but Vince Vaughn and Kristen Bell are hilarious. I liked i (Rated R) – (Uunder 2 Hours) – (3 Stars).

Movie News: Corrective Measures is the worst film in years and no surprise, Bruce Willis stars. It’s about a prison in the future and a battle between the inmates and staff. You’ll have trouble finding it, it’s so bad, streaming formats have even passed on it. … Hearing great things about the Princess Di story starring Kristen Stewart as the princess and it has already won several Film Festival awards. F.Y.I. when I first met Kristen, the one thing that I remember, she has a tattoo on the inside her arm, “One More Time with Feeling.”

TV News: On the other hand, one of the best series is Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selina Gomez in, Only Murders in the Building. It’s on Hulu, fabulous. While this is a mystery, make no mistake, it’s a full blown comedy as well. Another must see TV.

While College and NFL football are back, a sad story, my old friend Evander Holyfield (58) is climbing back in the ring tomorrow against MMA’er Vitor Belfort. Sad.

But first things first, both my daughter have spent brief times at Kapiolani Women’s and Children’s Medical center and today is the day of their radiothon. Help the keikis and give till it hurts, it’ll make you feel good, they need the kokua, call and give 951-5437 or text Keiki to 51555.
