But it’s still Movie Review Friday and hold on, there’s a lot to talk about. Amsterdam, opens today starring Christian Bale, John David Washington, Margot Robbie, Timothy Olyphant, Chris Rock, Mike Myers, Michael Shannon, Taylor Swift, Remi Malek and Robert De Niro. Their performances are excellent and the movie is based on a true story of friends in the 1930’s, a murder, heavily mixed with comedy and drama. So this should be 4 stars, but it’s not. Actually, I liked it more than most other critics but there are some parts it just doesn’t work. It over plays itself and underplays the actual story line. It’s a hard movie to review, but despite all the problems the star power makes it worth seeing (Rated R) – (Too Long at 2 ½ Hours) – ( 2 Stars).
And we got a great kids movie, it’s Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile! A live action film about a family who moves into a New York condo only to discover a live action, singing, hilarious crocodile living upstairs. It’s fine, the crock’s owner, played by Javier Bardem shows up and explains Lyle is the best singer in New York and completely harmless! While the family and the city are scared, the kid in the family played by Winslow Fegley convinces every body Lyle is a blessing in disguise. You got to be a kid to enjoy this, but every kid who sees this will love it (Rated PG) – (92 Minutes) – (3 Stars).
Movie News: Coming to Netflix next month, The Good Nurse. The true story about a nurse and a series of mysterious deaths. Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne stars (3 Stars). … All the Beauty and The Bloodshed, this is the documentary of the Sackler family. They are the hideous Pharma family, the people who lied and cheated to promote their opioids and made hundreds of millions of dollars while million suffer. This will be released this week. MUST SEE, it’s Dopesick with more shocking facts.
