Movie Review Friday: The Irishman opens in limited release today, and it’s 3 stars. Judy opens almost everywhere today and it’s 4 Stars. And that brings us to this week’s biggie, Joker. Joaquin Phoenix is amazing and could very well get an Oscar nomination. Joaquin plays a psychotic nightmare of a person that humanity has pushed too far, and he pushes back too far in return. It’s raw, disturbing, shocking and unfortunately there’s probably a lot of these Joker types among us. Just read the headlines. I don’t know if you’ll be entertained, but guarantee it’ll scare the hell out of you. (Rated R) – (2 Hours) – (3 Stars).
Odds and Ends: Phil Collins is basically Wheel Chair bound and in very poor health, sad. … Biggest jerk has got to be John Gotti’s ignorant, life time criminal son John Gotti Jr. While at a charity function, Gotti kept giving the stink eye to Guardian Angel leader, Curt Silva. Silva’s people keep N.Y. cities safe, Gotti Jr. reportedly continues his crimes. … Moving papers in congress yesterday confirmed, the FDA is worried about vaping, warned of it’s danger, asked it be taken off the market and it was President Obama who over-ruled their recommendation. Just the facts.
Answer – And I was surprised at this, #4 New Orleans, #3 Nashville, #2 Savannah, but #1 is Boston. Which I think could be a little chilly but there you go. I’ve been to all 4 and for me, it’s New Orleans for food, Savannah for beauty, Nashville for music and Boston… for just being Boston, weather be darned.
