Movie Review Friday: One Piece Film: Red is getting great reviews, so please take mine with a grain of salt. It’s a kids movie and I don’t like kid movies, it’s a cartoon and I don’t like cartoons, I hate subtitles and this is a Japanese kids cartoon with subtitles. So sorry, you’re our on your own. … On the other hand, Armageddon Time, is a great movie. An American soul searching story set in the 1980’s that crosses generations of a family about race, love, politics and more! It is a coming of age film that is relatable now and has a great cast including, Anne Hathaway, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Jeremy Strong and others. Great story telling about growing up and dying and right and wrong. (Rated R) – (2 Hours) – (3 ½ Stars). Oh F.Y.I. the movie is based on the true childhood of the director James Gray.
Odds and Ends: There is a growing movement to allow Pete Rose into the Hall of Fame. I’ve known Pete for years and if you go to my website, there’s a photo of Pete and myself on the homepage. With all the gambling going on now in all sports, right or wrong, I believe Pete belongs in the Hall for what he did on the field, period!
