Movie Review Friday: The Biggest Little Farm is the biggest surprise of the year. A great documentary about a couple who leave the big city to fulfill their dream, moving into their farm. their crops, their livestock, and fighting mother nature at every turn. This is a hilarious, honest and heartwarming story. Go see this great film. (4 Stars)
The Hustle is a remake of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels from 1988 starring Steve Martin and Michael Caine only the genders have been changed with Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson. The girls are crafty con-artist, out to rob a rich Silicon tech dude. A little slapstick, little over the top but hilarious. Very entertaining. (Rated R) – (119 Minutes) – (3 Stars)
And let’s not forget Poms, starring Diane Keaton who moves into a retirement home and starts a cheerleading group with the ladies. It’s corny and a little 65-year-old women cheerleading goes a long way. Also stars Jacki Weaver, Pam Grier and Rhea Perlman. Idea’s cute, acting’s good, scripts weak. (Rated R) – (100 Minutes) – (2 ½ Stars)
Legal Notes: Felicity Huffman will get 3 months house arrest since she pleaded guilty in that college scandal. However, if found guilty (and she will) Lori Loughlin will get 4 years in prison, since she did not take a plea, and more charges have been added. And with that news Loughlin has been hospitalized claiming a nervous breakdown! She needed to remember 2 old sayings, I have met the enemy and the it was me. And, You have to know when to hold them, fold them, walk away and run. Now she’s toast!
