Movie Reviews: Opening today, 65, stars Adam Driver in this goofy, full of action, sci-fi with little plot. Sorry (PG-13) – (90 Minutes) – (2 ½ Stars). … Scream 6, Solid franchise but maybe enough already. Jenna Ortega is strong but a lot of the cast is just walking through this money grab (PG-13) – (2 Hours) – (3 Stars). … And then there’s Woody Harrelson in Champions. Woody plays an out of control minor league basketball coach, always getting into trouble and to avoid jail is sentenced community service to coach a bunch of kids with intellectual disabilities. Rotten Tomatoes didn’t like it, I loved it (PG-13) – (2 Hours) – (3.5 Stars).
Oscars are Sunday and here are my predictions for the Big Six! Supporting Actress, Jamie Lee Curtis in Everything, Everywhere All at Once is should and will win. Supporting Actor, Same thing Ke Huy Quan should and will win for Everything, Everywhere All at Once. Best Actress, Cate Blanchett should and will win for Tar. Best Actor, my pick would be Brendan Fraser in The Whale but the young Academy voters will give it to Austin Butler in Elvis. Best Director, Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan will share the award for Everything, Everywhere All at Once. Best Picture, I like Avatar: The Way of Water, but Hollywood being Hollywood will most likely give it to Everything, Everywhere, All at Once. With All Quiet on the Western Front a close second. We’ll check on Monday to see how we did with the Big Pick Six.
Final Oscar Nugget: Lady Gaga was scheduled to sing her nominated Best Song, Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick. But she had to cancel because she is so busy working on the movie, Joker: Folie à Deux. This the biggest kept secret in Hollywood. It is called a follow-up of the Joker and Joaquin Phoenix but that’s all we know.
