Report for Friday, July 8th

First things first, sorry to hear James Caan has passed at the age of 82. James was a happy go lucky guy but can tell you from personal knowledge, he had some demands, I’ll just leave it at that. May he Rest In Peace.

Movie Review Friday: I told you Thor: Love and Thunder opens today and it is 4 Stars. … Don’t forget Minions and Elvis are also playing. Great weekend for movie going.

So something new, I have scoop on two movies that I haven’t seen, but have some insight on and I predict both will be huge! First is, Bullet Train, with Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock and one of my favorite actors, Michael Shannon. It’s an action thriller, with a lot of comedy. Brad plays a trained killer, trying to retire but is lured back for one special assignment. Brad has to deliver a gold briefcase but there are five assassins out to get that briefcase and kill him, the movie is shot on the Japanese Bullet train. Coming out in August.

But the next movie is the one everybody is talking about, but nobody knows anything about it! The movie is, Amsterdam, starring, hold on, Taylor Swift, Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, John David Washington, Mike Myers, Timothy Olyphant, Chris Rock, Rami Malek, Robert De Niro, and again one of my favorite actors, Michael Shannon. The secrecy is due to the writer and director David O. Russell who made the cast sign a promise of confidentiality. All we know it is set in the 1930’s, loosely based on shocking American history and it’s funny. Coming in November and guarantee Oscar nominations.

Odds and Ends: New financial records show that Col. Tom Parker made more than Elvis! … Apparently official, Julia Garner has turned down the part of Madonna in her biopic, all because Julia didn’t want to be directed by the first time director, Madonna herself. … Julie Andrews (88) and Carol Burnett (89) are talking about teaming up for a Golden Girls type of show. … And I loved J.K. Simmons and Sissy Spacek in Night Sky on Prime has been canceled.
