Report for Friday, July 2nd

Movie Review Friday: Blood, violence and mayhem and that’s all you need to know about, Forever Purge. It’s also called horror, mystery and thriller. But for me it’s just overdone blood and guts with a weak story line (2 Stars). … Next, Boss Baby: Family Business. The kids are back and getting a second chance to relive their childhood and correct previous problems and misunderstandings. This is a kids movie, although not a great movie, it’s good. Take the family. A little long, almost 2 hours but for what it is, it’s worth seeing. (3 Stars) – (Rated PG).

But the movie of the week you can see at home on HBO Max is, No Sudden Move. Starring Don Cheadle, Benicio Del Toro, Jon Hamm, Brendan Fraser and others. Great writing, great acting, this is what film making is all about! Set in 1950’s Detroit, some make shift, goofy, un-organized criminals are hired to steal a document and the simple assignment goes all wrong. Then a turn in the story and the criminals must find who originally hired them. Love this film (90 Minutes) – (Rated R) – (3 ½ Stars).

Criminal News: Dodger pitcher Trevor Bauer is one of the best pitchers in the game. In fact, Bauer won the Cy Young Award with the Cincinnati Reds just last year, so why did the Reds trade him. There were rumors of Bauer having off the field problems and now charges of rape and assault against him have been raised. Stay tuned folks. … Gloria Allred had a press conference yesterday and says she is going full steam ahead with all 33 of her clients who will sue Cosby for millions in civil court again stay tuned. … James Franco paid out $2.2 million to a woman who had accused him of sexual assault. For now, may not be criminal charges, but one more time, stay tuned.

Bad California News: With the heat, wind and fireworks this weekend, look for fires! And a San Francisco survey shows 40% of residents say they would move is possible. That’s sad.

Have a great Fourth of July and be safe.
