Report for Friday, July 26th

Pop Quiz question for today. If you are going on vacation and are looking for the best place to enjoy live music, these are the four cities with the most and best live music, but which is # 1? Is it New Orleans, Nashville, Chicago or Seattle?

Movie Review: I quit High School when I was 15 and was living in Hollywood, hanging with Sonny and Cher. I was at the right place at the right time, the film, Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, is set at the same time so I loved this movie. In those days, Hollywood was a smaller community, open and much different. I remember sitting next to Don Knotts at Aldo’s Diner, waiting in line at Market Basket behind Marlon Brando, Bob Hope, Johnny Carson and Jack Nicholson. Often would see Jimmy Stewart driving his beat up green Volvo. There was the Hollywood Palladium, Cinerama Theater, lunch at Musso & Franks. Cruising the Spahn Ranch where Charles Manson lived and so much more. I lived it and I loved it. However, will the general public care enough to go see it? I hope so. It stars Luke Perry in his last movie, Leonardo DiCaprio, Al Pacino, Brad Pitt, Bruce Dern, Margot Robbie and many more. This movie is about Hollywood, the town in the 60’s rather than a real plot. Sidebar, Hair stylist Jay Sebring who was one of those murdered by Manson’s gang at Sharon Tates, cut my hair a month earlier. Directed by Quentin Tarantino and it’s one of his best films. Hell yes, I loved it. (Rated R) – (2 Hours 39 Minutes) – ( Huge 4 Stars).

Great N.Y. Post Headline: Above the story that the mean 78 year old witch Faye Dunaway was fired from her Broadway Play, Tea at Five, after she slapped a stage hand. Post Headline screamed, “Faye Done Away.”

I never ask, what are you doing this weekend?

Answer – #4 Seattle, #3 Chicago, #2 (and I’m shocked) Nashville, so that means #1 is New Orleans.
