Movie Review Friday: First, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. It’s back, lots of flash backs, fluffy, plenty of pop songs, over the top, super joy filled romantic musical is as good as the first one! The story is more predictable but the choreography and set-ups are actually better. I even like my former friend Cher. (PG-13) – (3 Stars) … And a reminder, look for Eighth Grade, a little film that deserves big kudos. Loved it as much as Momma Mia. (3 Stars)
Let me start by saying most critics hated this movie, while I loved it! Equalizer 2 is Denzel’s first sequel. You remember the first one, Washington is a one man wrecking machine, cracking down on neighborhood hoodlums who prey on the weak. No nonsense, kick butt and taking no names. Always cool, calm and collected, righting wrongs in a way that will have you cheering out loud. All about revenge, don’t know what other critics expected. (Rated R) – (129 Minutes) – (3 Stars). Equalizer 2 is on 200 less screens than the Momma Mia sequel, hope it beats it. Ant-Man and the Wasp should continue to do well and I expect Skyscrapper to implode.
