So sad to her of Meatloafs passing overnight. One of the real true rock n’ rollers, may he rest in peace. Pete Davidson has become a jerk. He doesn’t show up for Saturday Night Live rehearsals and when he does he has a security team of six surrounding him. S.N.L. cast member Colin Jost says, “I’m married to a real star, Scarlett Johansson, I don’t need security. Pete’s a joke.”
Movie Reviews: The Tiger Rising is a mature kids movie that adults will also love. The story of a boy who has lost his mother to cancer who lives in a motel with his very lost dad played by Dennis Quaid. But the star is the boy who finds a tiger in a cage in the woods near his motel. A family film that also stars Queen Latifah, Katharine McPhee and Christian Convery is fabulous as the boy. Full of fantasy, emotion and great depth! (Rated PG) – (2 Hours) – (3 Stars). … But watch out for, Redeeming Love. A historic romantic drama, set during the 1850’s California Gold Rush. About a prostitute, brings her daughter to the gold rush and the daughter turns into the most sought after hooker in the west. But she falls in love, but can she change her life and her reputation, but does anybody really care? Ah, no. Bad writing, bad acting, just plain bad. A rare (0 Stars). … But remember, Scream, America Underdog, Sing 2 and Spiderman are playing in theaters as well, and all great movies.
Movie News: Coming next year, The “Weird Al” Yankovic Biopic on Roku, starring Daniel Radcliff as “Weird Al.” Which brings me to a “Weird Al” story. In 1982, Al and I became friends when he often hung out at KROQ before becoming famous. KROQ got him his first public gig, opening up for Missing Persons at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium and Al was literally booed off the stage. He came backstage in tears. I put my arm around him and said, Al, don’t give up, you’ll look back at this and laugh. And I bet he’s laughing today.
I was 4 for 6 last week and here are my 4 NFL picks this week, Green Bay, Tampa Bay, Kansas City and Cincinnati.
