Report for Friday, Feb 8th

With the Super Bowl over, this week’s Pop Quiz theme is celebrities who are fanatics of other teams in other sports, season tickets and road games, etc. Name the Boston Celtics basketball fanatic? Is it Steven Tyler, Steven Guttenberg, Steve Carell or Bono?

Movie Review Friday: First, Cold Pursuit, starring Liam Neeson who this week stuck his foot down his throat, openly admitted that 40 years ago he went out looking to assault any black man he could find to revenge a white female friend who was raped. Liam insists he’s not a racist but you be the judge. However, the movie is excellent. Ironically, in the film Liam plays a vigilante. It’s a very cold, very funny, dark comedy. Great cinematography, writing and acting. (Rated R) – (2 Hours) – (3 Stars). … Next, Lego Movie 2, it’s better than the first! Good over evil with lots of laughs. (PG) – (90 Minutes) – (3 ½ Stars).

Please bare with me, a personal note. When I travelled with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Frank Robinson was on the team and we became friends. Frank was the first black M L manager, Hall of Famer but most of all, great guy! I remember playing the Mets in N.Y. when Frank and I went out to dinner and he was going on and on how N.Y. was so crazy, anything could happen, told me just wait and watch. After dinner we went up to pay our bill and there was a lady in front of us paying her $48.00 bill all in unwrapped pennies. Frank looked at me and said, told you, only in New York. Just one of many stories. Frank Robinson was 83, God bless my friend and rest in peace.

Grammys on Sunday, comment, who cares. Worst Award show, I’d rather have root canal.

Answer – Steven Tyler’s all-time favorite athlete is Celtic Hall Of Famer, Larry Bird. Steven has never stopped loving the Celtics, he even bought an apartment a few blocks from the Boston Garden so he’d have a place to stay when going to Boston home games.
