Movie Review Friday: And we start with the best, Spider Man – No Way Home. Full of laughs, thrills, surprises and emotion! And it’s good vs evil at it’s best. Shocker, everybody knows that Peter is Spidey, and this complicates everything with a lot of twists that are both thrilling and heartwarming. Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Benedict Cumberbatch are fabulous. Too long at 2 ½ hours but too good to miss (4 Stars)! … Next, Nightmare Alley. Bradley Cooper plays a psychic medium, full of mystery, intrigue and a first class conman! Set in the 1940’s in high society and the midway of a traveling carnival. Like the movie, Sting, get your popcorn before it starts or you will be lost. And great cast, Cate Blanchett, Toni Collette, Mary Steenburgen and Ron Perlman. But, It’s like Spidey, too long at 2 ½ hours but again too good to miss (3 ½ Stars). … Finally, from Amazon Studios, that I had high hopes for, The Tender Bar. It’s about a dead beat, drunk pile grandfather played by Christopher Lloyd who wants to raise his grandson, but instead, the boys uncle, played by Ben Affleck takes on the responsibility. Ben raises the boy in the bar he keeps and the kid grows up to be a good guy, played by Tye Sheridan, but still has issues including a girlfriend. It’s directed by George Clooney but it’s just not good! It’s over acted, under written and instead of being full of heart, it flatlines. Sorry, a waste of time (1 ½ Stars).
TV Reminder: Tomorrow and Sunday on NBC is the PNC Father/Son Golf Championship. Tiger’s return with his 12 year old son Charlie who’s better than his dad at that age.
Scoopage: Kim Kardashian has passed the baby bar, only has one more hurdle to becoming a lawyer. Kim will practice as a criminal defense attorney, all pro-bono.
