First things first, I’m shocked, no verdict from the Los Angeles jury who has had Weinsleez’s rape, sexual assault case all week long. That’s the same jury pool that found O.J. not guilty.
Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody opens December 21st in 3000 theaters. The movie shows more of Whitney’s lows than her highs, and less of Bobby Brown. And a big surprise, we learn that it wasn’t Brown who got Whitney hooked on drugs, it was her brothers! Great music and actress Naomi Ackie who plays Whitney is 4 stars.
Christmas News: One of the biggest musical Christmas gifts apparently is Michael Jackson’s Thriller album. Thriller sales have exploded over that last 30 days. … Biggest Christmas Party was last week at Jennifer Aniston’s house, and her guests included Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Sandra Bullock, Gwyneth Paltrow, David Spade, Jason Bateman, Bradley Cooper, Tobey Maguire and Reese Witherspoon. Cool that they played Secret Santa, everybody brought a gift, maximum cost allowed $100.
TV News: Amazon has green lighted a two season buy of The All Stars, a half hour sitcom produced, directed and starring Reese Witherspoon as a retired Cheerleader who heads to England to start a cheer leading school. Lots of cameo stars. … The new Jack Ryan season drops on Prime with John Krasinski on December 21st.
Movie News: The Golden Globes have long been accused of racism with no board minorities and no minority voters. While they have tried to change their reputation, however, with no women being nominated in the Best Director category, draw your own conclusions. Sidebar, wonder if their last minute decision to give the Cecil B. DeMille Award to Eddie Murphy had anything to do with the recent accusations. … Tyler Perry’s next production will be a true drama about the 6888th battalion, the only all-black all females battalion in WW2. Tyler Perry, Tyler can do anything and it’s great.
Odds and Ends: Cher has met with her old plastic surgeon asking about possible new nip/tucks, I guess to keep up with her new boyfriend who is 40 years old younger.
