Movie Review Friday: I have two movies, very different, yet both getting 4 stars. The first one is Abigail. The story of a sweet, lovable 12 year old ballerina who is kidnapped, but what the kidnappers don’t know is she’s a violent, heartless, mean, bloodthirsty vampire! Who could have guessed? This horror film is hilarious! While I don’t usually like horror movies, this one is worth watching! Get a popcorn, get ready to laugh while on the edge of your seat! (Rated R) – (4 Stars).
Next, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, and it’s fabulous! Great writing, directing, acting and all true. Set in World War 2, the very first English Special Forces infiltrates their way behind German lines causing havoc by partying, conning and killing. And again, true but hilarious! They will do anything to execute their mission, and the way they do will make you laugh and cry! Guy Ritchie directs, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer! Henry Cavill stars but the real star is the movie itself, action, surprises and comedy. (Rated R) – (2 Hours) – (4 Stars).
And if you plan on staying home, here are the Top 5 best movies ever made according to Newsweek, available on various streamers, so her you go. #5 Lord of the Rings, #4 Rear Window, #3 1942’s Casablanca, #2 12 Angry Men from 1957, and #1, and I agree, The Godfather. The best movie ever!
And a TV shocker. This season’s American Idol ratings started at 6.1 to a 5.5 to a 4.2 to a 3.9. Is American Idol over? F.Y.I. Katy Perry is leaving the show, Jelly Roll will take her place.
