I first met O.J. Simpson 40 years ago. Strictly as a member of the media! However, through those years would see him with Nicole at the Magic and Comedy Club in Hermosa Beach. I’d would see him at other functions from time to time, he always seemed nice enough. However, I was told by an impeccable source, that O.J., while in jail, before the trial told one of his best friends, that he was high as a kite that night, that he went to Nicole’s to scare her and wearing a mask. He pounded on the side of her house. Nicole came out the backdoor with a kitchen knife and yelled, O.J. I know that’s you! She came towards him. O.J. hit her in the face, knocked her down, picked up the knife and just then O.J. was grabbed from the back by Ron Goldman who just came through the back gate. Simpson and Ron went to the ground, and O.J. stabbed him. Just then Nicole started to get up, O.J. knew that she knew it was him, and slit her throat!
Who knows if that’s what really happened, but again, O.J. told the friend it all happened in 15 seconds and was so high it was just a blur. That’s the story I was told by, again, an impeccable source. I covered all three of O.J.’s trials. The murder trial which was blown by the incompetent prosecution while being outgunned, out played and out smarted by Johnny Cochran and was found not guilty. I covered the civil trial where he was found responsible for Ron and Nicole’s murder and ordered to pay over $20 million, which he never did. And I covered the Las Vegas trial where he was found guilty of robbery and kidnapping and was sentenced to 33 years and did less than a third of that!
Amazing that O.J. is in the football Hall of Fame and Pete Rose was denied the baseball Hall of Fame.
