Date in History, April 14th. 1865, President Lincoln was shot to death at the Ford Theater in Washington DC by John Wilkes Booth. If you ever get to Washington DC, go to the Ford Theater, it is exactly the same way as it was the night Lincoln was murdered, all the way down to the chair Lincoln was sitting in. It is run by the National Park service, and they re-enact the assassination, then you go across the street where Lincoln died to a room 2 feet from the bed he died in. Great history!
