All TV Nuggets: Watch for these this coming season, write them down. Comedy Central’s series Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens. Awkwafina’s real name is Nora and this show deals with her growing up with an odd Grandma, dad and cousin. Nora airs on January 22nd.
Next, Space Farce, which is a comedy about our new Military branch Space Force, starring Steve Carell, from the creator of the Office Greg Daniels and it’s on Netflix.
And there’s Briarpatch, a high tech cop drama with feelings set in a small border town based on the Ross Thomas novel and starring Rosario Dawson and on the USA Network.
Young Rock is a comedy about Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s early years on NBC. Rock’s dad, Rocky Johnson was a professional wrestler and travelled all over the country with his dad as he performed. When “the Rock” debuted as a professional wrestler, he used the name, “Flex Kavana.” Among other things, the show will show are Rock’s huge fear of spiders and his famous eye brow raise trademark that “the Rock” picked up as a kid when he saw Groucho Marx do it on TV. Show will air next Fall. … And, Kevin Hart will produce NBC’s new series, Night School, a spin from the movie of the same name about adults headed back to school. Great writers are attached, should be good.
Finally, the fourth season of Fargo on the FX Network airs in April starring Chris Rock as a gangster with a blood thirsty attitude and yet a great sense of humor. Could be the best ever.
And, Meghan McCain says she’s proud to be the only conservative voice on the Voice, she will probably not return to The View when her contract is up, but I believe she has had enough and may quit before then. Stay tuned.
