Report for Tuesday, Jan 14th

Pop Quiz: This is a good one, name the actress who has the same name as William Shakespeare’s wife. Is it Scarlett Johansson, Emily Blunt, Emily Blunt or Anne Hathaway?

TV News: There is already a tribute planned for Prince on the Grammy’s, a TV special in the works, a feature Biopic about the man in Purple and a Hollywood statue. … As Alex Trebek get’s closer to retirement there’s already a television biopic of his life. Alex Trebek is the one of the nicest celebrities to ever be a part of our industry.

Head’s Up: The cliquish Oscar’s had no women director nominees and only one black nominee, they snubbed conservative Clint Eastwood and Eddie Murphy who is considered an outsider for turning down their invitation to be a member of the academy. And it’s really bizarre that 1917 was ignored for editing, despite that I guarantee Director Sam Mendes will win that category, mainly because of the never before fabulous, unique editing that made it appear to be one long take, real time direction. One thing I do agree with is the double nomination for Scarlett Johansson in JoJo Rabbit and the another nomination for Marriage Story. She was great in both, however it’s going to be hard to pick a lot of winners since they’re all pretty even.

Odds and Ends: Being buried today, Buck Henry who either wrote, directed or produced a number of works such as Get Smart, Catch 22, Heaven Can Wait, Grumpy Old Men, The Graduate and was SNL’s greatest writer. He hosted SNL 10 times and was John Belushi’s best friend. … Don’t know what your weather’s like, but my smallest affiliate is in northern Canada reported to me this morning, it was 49 degrees below zero there today!

Dumbest quote I have ever heard from Shia LaBeouf. He actually said, “I’ve never been in the military but I can tell you acting is tougher.” Idiot, party of one.

Head’s Up: I’m playing in a great Charity Golf Tournament, so the next three days I will be sending MP3’s from Phoenix, just tomorrow Thursday and Friday, back live Monday.

Answer – Both are named Anne Hathaway.
